From community-based roots a century ago to a succession of nationally-prominent athletes over the past 30 years, Delaware sports have evolved – in who plays, what they play, and the notice they receive. Chuck Durante, a Wilmington lawyer who has also been a Delaware sportswriter since 1973, and now the president of the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame, will discuss these fascinating trends.

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month and the Rotary Club of Wilmington’s focus on early childhood education, we will welcome Robert Stechuk from UnidosUS, the nation’s largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization, and Karen Lantz from the Latin American Community Center, to discuss early childhood education among the Latinx population nationally and locally.

The Fellowship Committee has joined this effort and will offer a chance to take in some history Thursday, September 30, we’ll forgo our usual meeting for a walking tour of Market Street.
Please join the Delaware Historical Society for a walking tour of Market Street—consider it a stroll of a meeting. We’ll convene at the Hotel duPont side of Rodney Square at Noon. We’ll walk for 60-75 minutes down the heart of the commercial district exploring its social and architectural history and current efforts to preserve and activate historic buildings on the street. We’ll end at the Delaware Historical Society, where restrooms are available.
