The International Service Committee finds and develops opportunities to assist deserving individuals and institutions around the world. There are ongoing efforts to identify an international project, which takes longer because of complexities involved. Possibilities would be in line with previous international projects that have included providing computers to schools in Latin America and providing assistance for infrastructure projects in Africa. The Committee finds projects through personal contact by individual members, from Rotary clubs around the world, and from Rotary International. Often the results are accomplished by the committee working directly with Rotary clubs in the specific foreign communities where the needs are identified.

For a number of years the committee has sponsored a trip to Washington, D.C., for sophomores and juniors in Wilmington high schools. This provides the students with opportunities for significant interaction with staff and decision makers in the legislative and executive branches with international relations as its focal point.
